or North Marin Water’s billboard above, we created a unique outdoor brand design using the famous Scrabble game tiles. The billboard conveyed a water conservation message during a long Marin County drought. Aimed at over 50,000 customers in the Novato California watershed, the design was posted on highway 101 where over 120,000 cars pass every day. Scrabble is a fixture in popular board game culture and has been sold in 29 different languages. A design created with Scrabble tiles would get noticed and remembered by pretty much everyone. Getting the approval of Hasbro was difficult, but when they saw how the sign benefited “saving water” they approved. Adding “smart move” drove home the importance of the 14′ x 40′ foot banner design.
